| This Bureau Bookcase has many hand worked and carved features, including a carved scrolled pediment, turned finials and astragal glazing bars commonly seen in furniture of this period. The satin lining in the rear of the bookcase gives it a character of its own. The shelves to the bookcase section sit on brass height adjusters. You will always find plenty of room to store those special small items with the 3 levels of small drawers and the hidden and concealed drawers in the bureau area. The fall flap drops down onto pull out lopers and is fitted with a gilded and tooled real leather-writing surface. Two drawers sit under the writing area with three more full width drawers below. The drawers are flanked by reeded columns. The whole piece stands on bracket feet. |
